MSU Leadership Institute & UM Global Leadership Initiative

The University of Montana Global Leadership Initiative will host mountaineers Conrad Anker, Peter Metcalf and Rick Reese for a lecture titled "To the Summit! Mountaineering and Responsibility to the Planet" at 7 p.m. Friday in Urey Lecture Hall.

Negotiation is a fun thing. It should be an enjoyable and it should be an exchange. It doesn’t have to be where you’re trying to destroy and get everything. It’s the ability to look for mutual gain.

The speakers will share conservation and life lessons they’ve learned among the world’s highest mountains.

The University of Montana Global Leadership Initiative will host a community discussion about how Americans can be change agents in mobilizing foreign policy on education, "Harnessing the Power of Education: RESULTS in Action."

Invariably, many people will think some of the choices are poor or that the list is incomplete, but I hope it can serve as a start for young business leaders looking for literature to help them chart their careers.

The White House Project, http://thewhitehouseproject.org is dedicated to coaching and inspiring women to become new leaders in society and to diversify the workplace among all disciplines. Students and the general public are invited to participate.

She advised freshmen to be optimistic, "find your passion," "try something hard," study abroad, learn a foreign language and seek mentors. "Nobody gets there all on their own," she said.

For some, it was a long time coming.
