Developing a more Entrepreneurial Montana

The results of a successful Envision plan will deliver 1000 new primary jobs, and an additional 1,002 secondary jobs.

A healthy economy relies on a balanced mix of established firms and startups, yet, a longstanding national decline in new business formation threatens this balance.

Successful applicants will be organizations with a demonstrated history of providing successful entrepreneurship training to women veterans, women service members, and women spouses of service members and veterans. Applications must be received by Dec. 12.

Mayors must be at the vanguard of making U.S. entrepreneurship more demographically and geographically inclusive. The playbook to get started is clear:

"Winning this competition is an honor and a testament to the ecosystem that has developed because of Les Craig and the Blackstone Launchpad at MSU," Crosby said. "These funds will help extend our runway and accelerate our fundraising progress."

More than 300 teachers from all over the state are expected to gather in Bozeman on Thursday and Friday for the Montana Association of Career and Technical Educators conference, he said.

The Blackstone LaunchPad at MSU was one of 68 programs selected nationwide as winners of the Growth Accelerator Fund Competition on Aug. 31. It was the only organization in Montana to receive the award.

We knew the value of making makers and the good that would come from people learning hands-on skills.

Conferences are great resources for new innovations in your industry, and they’re excellent opportunities to meet future business partners. Bozeman’s Big Sky Dev Con in August and Malta’s Hi-Line Technology Roundup did just that. Though adoption of such conferences are just beginning here at home, it’s a great opportunity to set the precedent for Montana as a technological leader.
