The award recognizes exemplary companies worldwide that further the boundaries of contactless technology through product introduction or pilot programs.

The project intends to directly connect 42 anchor institutions, including healthcare facilities, emergency response agencies, libraries, and government offices, as well as institutions serving the Nez Perce Tribe.

"Attracting a major meeting, convention or sporting event has a tremendous impact on our local economy," said Executive Director Bobbie Patterson. "We want to give them the extra attention they need."

Under the budget, teachers and classified staff will see Idaho’s share of their salaries cut 4 percent. Teachers also won’t get automatic raises based on education or experience while and minimum teacher salaries were cut to $29,655, though districts could still pay them more from their other funding sources.

Agency administrator Karen Ballard says the interactive tours, some featuring the sounds of bird chirps and rushing water, will show off Idaho’s natural beauty to people unfamiliar with the state.
