Dave Gibson and Montana Commissioner of Higher Education Sheila Stearns met with about 40 area people at Montana State University-Northern’s Student Union Building Ballroom to give an update of the project.

A free workshop designed to take the mystery out of launching, organizing and financing a business will be offered at eight locations across the state in September.

“Over the last dozen years, 32 Montana communities have used this process to better understand the role tourism plays in the economic vitality of their area,” said Mark Simonich, Director, Montana Commerce Department. “Harlowton, Helena and the Chippewa Cree Tribe now have the opportunity to use the resources provided by CTAP to develop plans and projects to help local businesses and create new jobs.”

"We are all here – we are all ‘us,’" said Deb Essen, a Victor resident and a House District 89 candidate in November’s general election. "The sooner we start working together, the sooner we can start moving forward."

"At some point, you’ve got to go with your instincts," Neidorff said. "Here, I see a group of people working for the greater good of the community."

“Finding out how our university system can help economic development in Montana is extremely important, but we need the involvement of citizens and businesses throughout the state to determine our highest priorities,” Commissioner of Higher Education Sheila Stearns said. Stearns and Dave Gibson, the Governor’s Chief Business Officer, will lead the discussion.
