Montana’s dinosaur trail is all mapped out

"Contributions made will now have twice the impact thanks to this challenge by the Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation," George Everett of the Montana Folk Festival Executive Committee said in a news release.

"Montana’s such a visual brand and it’s such a big state that what we’ve learned and what’s most effective when we communicate with prospective travelers is how we can bring Montana to life," says Katy Peterson, consumer marketing manager for Montana’s Office of Tourism.

At a recent airline conference, Faulkner reached an agreement with Alaska Airlines, which flies Horizon planes into Great Falls, to partner with the airport in promoting travel to Glacier via Great Falls.

The winding, mountain highway climbs nearly 6,000 feet between Red Lodge, Mont., and Cooke City, Mont. Part of the route dips into Wyoming just east of Yellowstone National Park.

The Upper Middle Fork is home to some of the best Cutthroat trout fishing in Montana. And, given its secluded location, it sees very little traffic, especially in mid to late summer when fishing is at its peak.
