Summer internships are common at a number of businesses and institutions across the state, adding to students’ resumes and helping them choose a career.

Interns at McLaughlin are bright and interested in science.

The program’s main focus is helping incoming freshmen stay in school by providing them advisors and hiring a mentor coordinator who will recruit volunteers to work with students.

The program also provides job-shadowing opportunities for juniors.

I am looking for three additional business owners/managers that would like to work with our Mktg 461 students this fall and have a marketing plan prepared for their business.

"I got so much from Rocky, so I’m glad I’m finally in a position to give something back," said donor John Eisenhauer.

One of the major challenges facing regions today involves bridging the communications gap between educators and business managers.

Many smaller manufacturers say they could not have made the shift to lean manufacturing and new business plans on their own.

"The real beauty is seeing these generations working together," said Brennick.

By collaborating with neighborhood residents, local organizations,
government officials, and other stakeholders, COPC grantees have helped to improve
their communities, empower residents and the organizations that serve them, and
strengthen relationships between campus and community.

Recipients will be chosen based on the quality of their respective university’s photonics educational program and the relevance of the proposed research to the future of laser diode technology and applications.

"These companies (who are involved with Partners in Education) get it. They are excellent role models for corporate citizenship."
