The education gap among U.S. counties has been growing since the 1970s.

The U.S. Department of Transportation announced the expansion of an internship program designed to encourage young women to pursue careers in transportation.

Once construction is completed, nine permanent jobs are expected to be created at the greenhouse.

"There will be an empty lot there where one of the city’s most historic buildings used to stand, and for no good reason," said Mark Hufstetler, chairman of the city’s Historic Preservation Advisory Board.

Director of the Montana Manufacturing Extension Center, Steve Holland, said the grant will open the door to new opportunities for Montanans.

Montana’s Senior U.S. Senator Max Baucus recently returned from a week-long visit to China to explore ways to open new markets for Montana ranchers, farmers, manufacturers and energy leaders to trade their world-class products.

The Novogradac Community Development Foundation (NCDF) recently presented Montana Community Development Corporation (MCDC) with Honorable Mention for its excellent work and achievement in securing financing for the Peak Health & Fitness project in Helena.

“Montana is poised and ready to become a leader in wind energy production and that means good-paying jobs for Montana workers. Partnerships with innovative companies like Goldwind will go a long way toward supporting our efforts to put Montana on the map as a wind energy leader. I am proud to bring Goldwind’s top brass to Montana to see for themselves all our great state has to offer,” Baucus said.
