MAPS (Media Arts in the Public Schools) kicks off 2022 with drones, music, animation and film classes

“Ravalli County eighth- to 12th-graders will have incredible creative opportunities in the new year,” said Clare Ann Harff, MAPS Executive Director, in a press release. “From building drones and character drawing for animation, to creating music from scratch and a promotional video for the Ravalli DUI Task Force, MAPS studios will be hopping this winter!”

MAPS Media Institute receives $36,000 National Endowment for the Arts grant

MAPS Media Institute’s project is among the more than 1,100 projects across America totaling nearly $27 million that were selected during this second round of Grants for Arts Projects fiscal year 2021 funding.

Nonprofit MAPS (Media Arts in the Public Schools) provides professional media arts education for Montana students

The goal of MAPS is to empower Montana’s next generation through professional media arts instruction. This is done through mentors in education who provide professional courses in design, film, music and technology. The courses are held online and in-person and are free for any student in 8th through 12th grade.

MAPS Media Institute film series continues on Montana PBS April 1 – “EAST”

This unique film was written, filmed, directed and edited by teen artists in a series of weekend workshops. The film follows a day in the life of three youth exploring their sense of place and the bonds of friendship they discover on their journey.
