The third annual Energy Summit: Repowering Montana Schools, sponsored by the School Administrators of Montana, not only offered school representatives the opportunity to meet top energy experts and practitioners, but also focused on ways to involve students in those cost-saving measures.

The Buffett Early Childhood Fund, Irving Harris Foundation, George Kaiser Family Foundation, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and W.K. Kellogg Foundation combine resources in an Educare Replication Pool, which annually awards more than $1 million in capital grants to encourage communities to create Educare Centers.

More and more, research shows young people need the same cognitive and social-emotional skills to complete school and progress in the workplace, and, moreover, that those skills can be taught and tested like any other subject in school.

She wants to make math cool. "You’re thinking about it, because it’s awesome."

Scheduled to speak from 10 to 11 a.m. are Apostle, Juneau and Roberta Evans, dean of the Phyllis J. Washington College of Education and Human Sciences at the University of Montana. The public is invited.
