The Montana Resources Opportunity Scholarship — worth $16,600 every year over four years — will go toward tuition, books, room and board, and fees for a needs-based student who wants to be the first in their family, including parents, to earn a college degree.

When asked why they were interested in tech, several students responded that in addition to playing games and using applications they wanted to be able to "make technology," "build computers," "build video games," and "hack."

"We hope to have around 500 employees by the time you all graduate high school," FitzGerald told the kids. "You can stay in Montana and share with the world based on the architecture of the Internet."
