"I think we always shoot too low, and we’re always behind on the budget, " said council member Archie Clemins, president of Caribou Technologies in Boise, at a council meeting last week in Idaho Falls. "If we’re talking about technology, our combined package shouldn’t be less than $50 million."

The program, presented by the Idaho Office of Science and Technology and sponsored by Hewlett-Packard, is designed to recognize innovations and the Idaho companies that created them. Entry forms can be downloaded from www.stoel.com/innovation and may be submitted online before July 14.

"People naturally want to meet others with their same passion," he said. "How cool is it that if I am in Idaho and I am having a problem building my arms, I can talk with somebody in Australia who had the same problem but found the way to overcome it?"

"Thanks to the Legislature, I have some tools in my economic tool kit," Risch told 140 workers this week at the Rupert Civic Gymnasium.
