Winifred, Montana Is An Amazing Community – Brad Bergum

Winifred, Montana
Had a long but great week over the last seven day in Winifred, Montana. Here are my random observations.
1. It’s such a gift to have an amazing extended family. We and the kids always have a great time when we’re back in Winifred, and the only downside is that we didn’t have enough time there to see and do everything we wanted to do … which just adds to the list for next time!
2. Montana is a magical place in the summer when there is lots of rain. So many happy cows and happy farmers and ranchers. Driving around and soaking in the landscapes was so satisfying.
3. We decided that we’ve been the “guardians” of the brick bank building (now apartments) in Winifred long enough. Is anyone interested in buying it or know anyone who might be? DM me if so. Each unit is a separate condo and it took us several years and several transactions to bring all the condos in that building under one owner, and we’d want to sell them all to one owner … HOAs are a pain in the ass to worry about with multiple owners. We’re thinking $250k for the whole building (5 condos). With the new school in Winifred and the upcoming missile upgrade project, they will be in demand.
4. I am so proud of how amazing Winifred Grocery looks every time we are in town. The amount of inventory that’s on hand and how clean and organized that place is astounds me. Eileen does an amazing job managing every aspect of the store, and the staff (Becky, Diane, Becky, Kevin, Vicki and Casey) are stellar in everything they do. It takes a huge amount of work on their part to make Winifred Grocery the asset it is for the community, and we can’t thank them enough for what they do for all of us.
5. The Bozeman airport is perhaps the nicest airport in all of America.
6. I so wish that we had the school in Winifred (Changing the trajectory: High-tech high school in tiny Winifred, Montana is philanthropist’s latest $40 Million gift to his hometown) they have now when I was in school, and I so wish that MSU had the amazing campus back when I was in college that it has now. I hope the kids today appreciate how great they have it.
7. Dee’s extended family is really cool as well, and they always make sure that I try some food I’ve never tried before.
8. It’s great that the Giants aren’t horrible anymore, and I love, love, love the new pitch clock. There is so much more action per minute of game time now. That’s a good thing. Sorry, traditionalists….
