Laid-off tech workers can now talk smack about ex-employers, says NLRB

The decision may have huge stakes for tech severance packages and workplace transparency as layoffs roll on into 2023. Before Tuesday, tech companies could tie weeks or months of severance pay and benefits to a guarantee of on-the-record silence. To get paid, ex-employees would be barred from disclosing their exit terms or publicly pointing out problems at the company, though that did not stop rumor mills from circulating on Blind or Reddit.
