Students take aim at Montana state archery tournament

Bear Paw Development Corporation is a private non-profit organization created for the purpose of administering programs to help improve regional economic conditions in Hill, Blaine, Liberty, Chouteau and Phillips Counties and the Fort Belknap and Rocky Boy's Indian Reservations.

Archers from across Montana traveled to Helena this week for the National Archery in the Schools State Tournament.

In Montana, the National Archery in the Schools program is overseen by Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks (FWP) Education Specialist Ryan Schmaltz.

Schmaltz says the program is growing quickly and has expanded from just a few schools to many.

The Five Valleys Archery Club has been serving Missoula and the surrounding area for over 40 years providing a safe and fun place to shoot your bows of all types. Along with our year round range, Five Valleys Archery Club holds annual competitive 3D shoots for shooters of all skill levels. Each shoot offers categories from kids under five years of age all the way up to seniors. We hope to see you out on the range or at an upcoming shoot!

Our range includes a flat range from 10-100 yards as well as a 20 target walking course for more realistic simulation of hunting scenarios.
