Sirna’s move clouds Colorado’s biotech scene

In a blow to Colorado’s nascent biotech industry, Sirna Therapeutics joined a long list of Colorado biotechs with research operations here and corporate offices elsewhere.

Last month Sirna announced it was moving its headquarters to San Francisco because it needed to be closer to investment bankers, venture capitalists and buy-side analysts.

The news highlights the difficulty of growing and retaining biotech corporate citizens.
