Ravalli County Commission cuts ties with Missoula-based BitterRoot Economic Development District

The Ravalli County Commission has voted to sever ties with a Missoula-based economic development district after a dispute over how federal planning funds should be used.

Commissioners said the BitterRoot Economic Development District http://www.bredd.org/ was too focused on serving Missoula County’s needs.

"We have dissimilar goals," said Commissioner Greg Chilcott. "They are focused on what’s happening in Missoula."
