Montana World Affairs Council Special April Events

Montana World Affairs Council

Bringing news of the world to Montana and Montana news to the world

Dear Members & Friends,
As winter melts away (finally), we look ahead to a very busy spring of incredible programming in partnership and collaboration with a number of organizations and institutions working on the frontlines of international awareness and education.  Our connections worldwide, from international programs to visiting scholars and global experts, help to expand our understanding of events  that are taking place well beyond our Montana borders, many of which may impact our lives in the months and years ahead.

We also want to take a moment to thank you for your support, your interest and your participation in so many of our hosted events, from the benefit concert last month at the Wilma to promote the importance of global education to the centerpiece of those efforts, Academic WorldQuest.  With nearly 300 students from all across Montana participating in a global trivia competition, it means the world to these students literally, to gain an in-depth understanding and knowledge of world affairs.

To further our efforts at global education, we will be on the road again soon, traveling to visit in-person, schools, teachers and students in communities around Montana, especially the most rural schools where access to global affairs education is often more limited.  By encouraging the participation of the schools, and making attendance affordable and viable, we can impact our young people’s connection to the world around them.  Our goal is simple – raise awareness, education, and understanding of global affairs so that they can be informed young citizens.  If you would like to support our upcoming road trip, a five day intensive one-on-one meeting with schools and faculty across Montana, please consider becoming a member, renewing your membership or simply making a one-time donation.  We would be very grateful.

Ahead this month are several exciting international events, with more planned across the Big Sky.  Please read on and reach out if you would like to connect with us about any of these programs.

With Gratitude,
Janet Rose
Executive Director
