Given the affordable housing crisis, California cities should encourage single-family homeowners to convert garages into apartments and accessory dwelling units.

Across the U.S., there are more homes with three-car garages being constructed than there are one-bedroom apartments.

    Autonomous cars are coming. People will “own” many fewer cars. Fewer 16 year olds are getting licenses. Has you community taken an “alley survey” to see what opportunities are available and the interest from home owners for garage to small home conversion?
