Governor’s Room, Florence Building

11:30 am – 1:00 pm

Due to consensus at our previous two meetings, City Club Missoula will be holding a December meeting on Friday, December 17, 2004, at the Governor’s Room, Florence Building, 111 N. Higgins Ave., Missoula.

You will see that we have changed our venue. During our first year we plan to meet at various locations and will have varying luncheon costs. Our December luncheon will be beef and vegetable lasagna, Caesar salad, garlic bread and brownies for $15.00. Attendees who do not wish lunch will be charged $5.00 as usual.

NOTE: The Main Street parking garage is only a block from the Florence Building.

Our speaker for the meeting will be Dan Kemmis speaking on:

How Can the City Club Help us be Better Citizens?

One of Missoula’s greatest strengths is that so many Missoulians practice
various forms of active and effective citizenship. Former Mayor Daniel
Kemmis will describe how he has seen that citizenship make a difference, and
raise some questions for discussion about how the City Club can help us be
even more effective citizens of Missoula."

Our presentation will be followed by discussions at individual tables as well as an opportunity to ask the speaker questions.

The intent of City Club Missoula is to present speakers who fill a particular community niche by:

* Focusing on how participants can be better, more effective citizens of Missoula

* Presenting information relevant to how we can best function as a community.

City Club Missoula also intends to involve a broad array of citizens interested in learning about issues and participating in active, lively discussions.

Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. and lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. Presentation will begin at 12 with wrap-up by 1:00 p.m. Continued discussion after 1:00 p.m. is encouraged.

Please RSVP to Tom Bensen at [email protected] on or before Tuesday, December 14. Please say if you will, or will not, be having lunch. Lunch is $15 and for those choosing not to have lunch, there will be a $5 fee to help to defray expenses. Payment will be received at the door. Please make checks out to City Club Missoula. Since the City Club cannot absorb the cost of no-shows, if you RSVP and are not able to attend at the last minute, reimbursement would be appreciated.

Please share this information with other Missoula residents who share an interest in making Missoula a more connected and civic-minded community.
