In addition to the many private companies who have already applied to this year’s Showcase, a partial list of submitting labs, agencies, and universities, representing 30 states and 5 countries include: Argonne, Air Force Research Lab, Cal State, Cornell, EPA, FAA, Hampton University, Laurentian, Los Alamos, Louisiana Tech, McMaster University, NASA, Office of Naval Research, Oak Ridge National Lab, Office of Naval Research, Ohio State, Penn State, Pacific Northwest Lab, Rutgers, Savannah River, University Laval, University of Alberta, University of Arkansas, University of British Columbia, University of Hawaii, University of Minnesota, University of NM, University of North TX, University of Pittsburgh, USC, USD, USDA, University of Toronto, Wayne State, and West Virginia University to name just a few…

To date, this year’s pool of submissions is consistent with past Showcases with deals representing a wide variety of industry sectors, including Advanced Materials, Chemical, Communications, Energy Lifescience, Semiconductor, and Software, among others.

New investors and licensees who have recently joined the 60+ screening panel and will be reviewing submissions include Avansis, Hot Ventures, In-Q-Tel, International Venture Partners, Johnson & Johnson, Kodak, Mainspring Partners, Medtronic, Raytheon, Tech Ranch, and Velocity Ventures.

Each year’s Showcase represents the collaborative effort of investors, licensees, and tech commercialization professionals, offering an unparalleled forum that is both deal-focused and unbiased with regard to geography, funding source, or originating research institution. Participating technologies are selected by – and presented to – over 100 seasoned venture investors and Fortune 500 licensing scouts representing a variety of industries, each supported by private funding, federal R&D grants, or both. Most are presenting for the very first time. All selected presenters are then coached and prepped in making concise, investor-oriented presentations seeking investment capital or licensing partners.

To mark the fifth anniversary of the WBT, the 2007 WBTshowcase will be produced in conjunction with the Federal Laboratory Consortium for Technology Transfer National Meeting, offering a one-time opportunity to attend both conferences in the same location.

Come and discover why over 1 in 3 of our past presenters has been successful in raising almost $400 Million in first (or next) round capital or licensing their technologies.
