Veterans must market themselves like civilians

As our country celebrates Memorial Day with special sales and vacations, we sometimes overlook that the day was set aside to honor those who serve our country.
Our veterans are returning from wars in search of civilian work in the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression. What are we doing to help? And how can veterans better help themselves?
Companies need to recognize the value of vets. And vets need to understand and communicate how their skills fit in the civilian world.
