Tour the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Visitor Center in Missoula, Montana – where conservation comes to life

The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation – where conservation comes to life – is located in Missoula and just renovated its visitor center.

The facility contains everything you want to know about elk, not only in Montana, but also across the country. NBC Montana Today Anchor Jason Hurst went on a tour of the visitor center. A lot of things have changed since the pandemic.

“COVID changed everything, but we took the opportunity to redo this entire area,” President & CEO of Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Kyle Weaver said. “January of 2026 will be 20 years in the building. So, what, 16 years we never changed anything, so it’s nice to open this whole thing up for the community.”

Jason asked what has been the most popular part of the renovations.
