The Danish way of parenting and education – Dannelse

Denmark didn’t accidentally produce one of the happiest, most educated populations on earth. They designed it that way — starting in school. Danish public schools are legally required to develop children’s character, with “awareness, imagination, and confidence” holding equal weight to academic achievement. This isn’t a philosophy. It’s national law. It’s called Dannelse — a concept so holistic it’s nearly untranslatable
Raising good humans doesn’t come at the cost of academic excellence. It’s the engine behind it.
