The City Club Missoula Senate Debate has Been Canceled.

On Monday, Senate candidate Alani Bankhead decided to back out of her commitment to participate in Monday’s City Club Missoula Senate debate. On the same day, Kurt Alme officially declined our invitation to participate. After considering potential format changes, we have come to the difficult decision to cancel the event, as the absence of two of the top three polling candidates does not meet our standard for a viable, informative debate.
The City Club Missoula Forum Committee would like to acknowledge the hard work of the many individuals who assisted with the planning of this event. Many thanks to board member Amanda Miller for her outreach to the campaigns and the moderators; Jill Valley and Seaborn Larson for agreeing to moderate the debate; Ally Waldorf from UM Conference and Events Services for her organization of the venue; MCAT for setting aside time to live stream the event; and finally, our sponsors, whose generosity allows us to continue with our mission to bring important forums to the Missoula community.
While this is a disappointing development, we remain committed to hosting future political debates as well as other engaging and informative forums.
Thank you for your continued support of City Club Missoula’s mission!
