TechLink conducted an "invention mining" exercise for the Air Force.

As an experiment, to help determine the percentage of inventions that DoD is failing to disclose and patent, TechLink http://techlinkcenter.org conducted an "invention mining" exercise for the Air Force. The results of this experiment demonstrated that Air Force, and likely other DoD labs, are currently losing some very valuable technology to the public domain.

This exercise demonstrated that review of DoD publications is an effective way to identify new inventions.
