Startup: Paydici, a Portland tech company
Eli Alford-Jones doesn’t remember his major when he dropped out of college in 2007. Economics, or was it journalism? No matter, he knew business and writing classes weren’t for him.
He left the University of Oregon to co-found Paydici Corp. https://www.paydici.com/ , a tech startup now closing in on its third round of venture capital. The company automates business billing and payments in a way that drives customers to pay bills online. It’s targeted property management companies and home ownership associations, but the model could work for most small and medium business, said Alford-Jones, who’s since added chief executive to his title.
"I was really passionate about entrepreneurship and building things," Alford-Jones, 25, said. "For me, it almost seemed like there was no other alternative."
