Washington Technology Center is partnering with leaders in Puget Sound to set the course for the future of our region. The Prosperity Partnership is a bold new initiative to develop a shared vision and strategy for Puget Sound’s economic vitality. This partnership is exciting because it brings together people with diverse interests from every part of the region and from every industry sector, all with the common goal of creating a unified plan for realizing our region’s full potential.

The Regional Economic Summit is the centerpiece event in the development of this four-county central Puget Sound region economic strategy. The Summit will be held on Friday, November 19, 2004, at Qwest Field Event Center in downtown Seattle, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Over 500 government, business, non-profit and community leaders are expected to attend the Summit. I invite you to join me at this important meeting and strongly encourage you to register early.

Puget Sound is one of the few regions around the country that is taking action to explicitly address technology and innovation-based growth and fold it into a comprehensive "mainstream" regional economic plan. The Partnership is not only addressing traditional industries, it is looking into our distinctive industries with the strongest potential for contributing to our economic future. For example, energy technology is of the areas of focus for this strategy. This is a great win for this growing industry!

For more information on the Prosperity Partnership project and to register for the Regional Economic Summit, visit http://www.prosperitypartnership.org. The registration fee is $50.

Thank you and I look forward to seeing you on November 19!

Warm regards,

Lee Cheatham

Executive Director
