First-year classes help introduce Franke Global Leadership Initiative (GLI) students to the “interdisciplinary” aspect of the program while guiding them toward the “global theme” they will end up choosing the following semester.

The five themes are as follows: Culture and politics, resources and sustainability, public and global health, inequality and human rights and technology and society.
