Montana new business registrations hit record high in April

According to Montana Secretary of State Christi Jacobsen, more than 6,700 new businesses filed for registrations last month in Montana.

This continues a trend of increasing business registrations over the past four years. Nearly 64,000 businesses registered in 2024.

The first four months of 2025 started off with a bang, with more than 25,000 businesses registering in the Treasure State.

State officials credit the increase to online document access, decreased registration feeds and waived annual report filing fees.
