Montana-Dakota Utilities natural gas customers to pay 36% increase in bills

| The Montana Public Service Commission unanimously agreed to allow Montana-Dakota Utilities, which serves nearly 100,000 natural gas customers, to increase rates. The utility had asked for more, but regulators settled on an increase that translates to 36% more for the average customer, including costs over which it has little discretion. The state’s Consumer Counsel said that will be difficult for many.
