Missoula seeks traffic calming, 20 mph limits on residential streets – The city may impose 20 mph limit across entire San Francisco neighborhood

Citing national standards and changing uses, the City of Missoula is looking at a comprehensive plan to lower the speed limit on residential streets and in turn, reduce the number of crashes and their severity.

Ben Weiss, the city’s bicycle and pedestrian program manager, said the proposed Neighborhood Traffic Management Program will address the growing number of citizen complaints regarding speeding, and explore equitable and cost-effective ways to slow traffic.
