Missoula Gives is right around the corner. We are hoping to reach enough donors to become sustainable. We are defining sustainability as being able to pay off our Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL), and having 2 months’ worth of operating expenses in the bank.

We incurred the EIDL as a result of COVID, and nearly 2 years without predictable revenue. Our EIDL is $8,500. Two months’ worth of operating expenses $14,588.42.

So, our goal for Missoula Gives 2023 is $23,088.42.

I believe that we can make this goal with your help. If you have never donated to Tell Us Something during Missoula Gives, please plan on donating during Missoula Gives on May 4th and 5th.

If you are a regular donor — Thank you! Regular donors, we need your help! Please reach out to your networks and encourage 3 of your friends to donate this year. Thank you for your help during Missoula Gives this year!

Our most recent live performance was a huge success, thanks to the incredible storytellers and enthusiastic listeners in the audience.

Head over to the Tell Us Something website to view the photo gallery.

Unfortunately, the recording from the event failed. There will be no podcast of the March “The First Time” event.

The live recording was sourced from a microphone that hangs from the ceiling instead of the storyteller’s microphone, and the sound quality is not as good as I would like it to be. The stories are fantastic and I’m confident that you will enjoy them. If you would like to listen to them, you can download them here.

Thank you for your understanding.

We’re also excited to announce that for the June 16 Tell Us Something event, we are partnering with Missoula Pride and hosting the event outdoors at Ogren Field.

Tickets are available online and at Rockin Rudy’s.

This means we have a call for storytellers on the theme “Neighbors”. We believe that everyone has a story to tell, and we want to hear yours. If you have a personal tale of connection, community, and neighbors, we want to help you share it.

We look forward to raising the voices of our LBGTQ+ neighbors at this event, and encourage you to pitch your stories!
Call the Tell Us Something pitch line to pitch your story: 406-203-4683. You have 3 minutes to leave your pitch, which should include a summary of the beginning, middle, and end.

The pitch deadline is May 9, 2023.

Last Call for Stewardship and Founding Members memberships!

We are wrapping up our membership drive on Friday, April 23, 2023. Click the links to learn more about how to become a Stewardship Member or a Founding Member.

Finally, one of our storytellers from the March “The First Time” event, Michael Beverly, notified me of a play that he is producing this coming weekend. Michael Beverly tells me that he is “…directing a production of The Laramie Project and making the show with some students from the [U]niversity [of Montana]. If you’re unfamiliar, The Laramie Project is a play that was written using collected interviews from the people of Laramie Wyoming after the murder of Matthew Shepard in 1998.

Admission is free. They are taking donations with half recouping production costs and the other half we are donating to The Center.

Thank you for your ongoing support of Tell Us Something. None of this would be possible without you.
