Not so long ago, France ushered in a new era of solar energy with the passage of a new law that mandates a large rise in solar canopies. The country’s new regulation requires large parking lots to have at least 50% of their space covered in solar canopies. It applies to parking lots that have 80 or more spaces. One of the first assumptions was that this just applied to new parking lots; however, the law is applicable to both new and existing parking lots of such size.

The past week, BayWare Solar Systems became the first distributor of ManOrga Solar products, a French maker of parking canopies. These technologies turn parking lots into true energy centers by combining solar generation and electric mobility.
