Leadership Montana Now Accepting Applications for Fifth Class…

Leadership Montana http://www.leadershipmontana.org , a statewide collaboration of higher education, community and business leaders, has begun accepting applications for the Class of 2009. This will be Leadership Montana’s fifth class. There are over 160 members from 40 Montana communities who have participated in Leadership Montana.

Leadership Montana will present a seven session program of business and policy education. Also included will be a program of leadership skill development focusing on the principles of community trusteeship. Participants will be selected to ensure diversity of ideas, commitment to the long-term future of Montana, and a willingness to play a leadership role. The program will be conducted in locations across the state, beginning with an Orientation and Retreat on September 10, 2008. Ultimately, Leadership Montana members will form an important bond, creating a powerful network of energy, talent and leadership for our state.

The Leadership Montana organization includes an Alumni Organization, made up of graduates of previous classes. Funding is provided by more than ninety organizations from around the state. Leadership Montana is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization with offices located on the Downtown Campus of Montana State University-Billings.

The current class of Leadership Montana has completed programs in Big Sky, Whitefish, Bozeman and Helena. The next session will be February 21-23 in Great Falls. The following session will be held in Lewistown March 27-29. Graduation will be held at the final session, May 7-9 in Billings.

Programs for the Class of 2009 will be conducted in Big Sky, Great Falls, Missoula, Butte, Miles City, Helena and Billings.

Tom Scott, chairman of First Interstate BancSystem and Chairman of the Governing Board of Leadership Montana said, “Leadership Montana provides the tools and awareness of the critical issues that leaders can apply to lead the state to a more prosperous future. The expectation is that the graduates of Leadership Montana will be a nucleus that will develop a vision for a Montana of which we can all be proud.”

The fifth class of Leadership Montana will include approximately 40-participants. Tuition will be $2,500 for the seven session program. Tuition assistance may be available on a limited basis.
