Leadership – Climbing documentary ‘Meru’ weaves Anker’s story with expedition – Special showings 8/29 in Bozeman

World renowned climber, North Face Athlete Team Captain, Alex Lowe Charitable Foundation Co-Chairman and Bozemanite Conrad Anker has been featured in countless films over the years.

"(Making films is) what I do," Anker said in a phone interview last week. "As a professional athlete, it’s part of creating the story."

However, none have been more personal than "Meru," http://www.merufilm.com/ which won the 2015 Sundance Film Festival Audience Award for documentary filmmaking and was released on Aug. 14 in select theaters. It there will be two special screenings in Bozeman on Saturday, Aug. 29, to benefit the Alex Lowe Charitable Foundation. Then, the film will open at the Regal Gallatin Valley on Sept. 4.

"Conrad really inspired the film and he’s been a huge inspiration for me," Chin said. "In a lot of ways, it was like my tribute to him… He’s an incredible character among incredible characters."
