Job Training That’s Free Until You’re Hired

Help Wanted Bozeman

Social Finance, a nonprofit, is spreading a model in which training programs get paid if students get hired, not just if they enroll.

Social Finance pioneered the field of Pay for Success (PFS), a set of innovative, outcomes-based financing strategies that directly and measurably improve the lives of people in need by driving resources toward results. These strategies share five core principles: clearly defined outcomes, data-driven decision making, cross-sector partnership, strong governance and accountability, and catalytic capital for impact. Social Finance brought the Social Impact Bond to the U.S. in 2013 and launched the first-ever Career Impact Bond in 2019. In 2019, Social Finance also became a fund manager, launching the UP Fund, a $40-50 million pool of impact investor capital to improve economic mobility.
