How to conquer being called ‘overqualified’ in a job search

Sometimes employers say it to your face; other times you feel it lurking behind every interview question.

That dreaded label: overqualified.

"In today’s world, no one is immune from hearing that they’re overqualified," said Sharon Melville, director of business services at Career Development Services in Rochester, N.Y. "Years ago, people would think that it was something that started happening to individuals in their late 40s, early 50s.
