Business owner Andrew Field says he used to hire based on gut instinct. No longer.
"You might as well flip a coin," says Mr. Field, founder of http://www.PrintingForLess.com Inc., an online full-color printing service in Livingston, Mont., with 170 employees. A high turnover taught him the importance of hiring and fostering employees, prompting him to try a new approach four years ago. He says the system has helped reduce turnover by about half.
