Higher ed isn’t making enough of a case in Idaho

State spending on higher ed has been slashed 24 percent — by $61 million — in two years.
Idaho’s colleges and universities haven’t yet figured out how to capture the hearts and minds of the state’s taxpayers. In a Mason-Dixon poll commissioned by seven Idaho newspapers in September, just more than one-third of Idahoans thought state spending for higher education was too low; 42 percent said it was about right.
