Governor Gianforte’s proposed budget would cut from Montana Department of Health and Human Services (DPHHS)

He aims to cut $23,450,425 from the Department of Public Health and Human Services. It’s the second largest proposed cut in his budget.

Meanwhile, the proposal does not include any state funding to address the COVID-19 pandemic. Gianforte said they’re waiting for guidance on federal pandemic funds recently passed by Congress.
