EMTEQ plugs into Electric City (Great Falls, Montana) thanks to the Great Falls Development Authority

When the founders of EMTEQ http://www.emteq.com/ secured a Small Business Administration-backed loan for $250,000 16 years ago, it pushed the company out of the basement of one of its founders and into a Milwaukee-area industrial park.

That year the company, which started with a product to replace flourescent tubes with lighter, longer-lasting LED lighting in airplanes, shipped $100,000 worth of product.

"By 1997 that jumped to $1 million, then it went to $2.5 million to $4 million," said Jerry Jendusa, president, CEO and founder of the company. "We had very rapid growth."
