CubCloud AI applied to host Montana’s first fleet of Tesla Cybercabs in early September, raising questions about passenger safety in autonomous vehicles.

CubCloud AI is a Missoula-based company that creates custom artificial intelligence platforms for businesses that don’t want to give their information to large companies. Cybercabs are self-driving vehicles powered by AI with no steering wheel, brake or gas pedal. The vehicles can fit two passengers. They are currently only available for public rides in Austin, Texas.

“Autonomous mobility could really be a game changer,” CubCloud CEO and founder Joshua Rhines said.
