City Club Missoula To Discuss Public School Funding, 5/18, Missoula

Missoula County Public Schools Superintendent Jim Clark will discuss the successes and failures of the 2007 Montana Legislature in regard to K-12 public education at City Club Missoula’s forum on May 18.

Clark will also talk about the district’s May 8 elementary and secondary levies and other avenues that the district is pursuing to raise awareness and build support for public schools. In addition, Clark will address the district’s leadership structure and budgeting process. During the discussion period at the tables, he will seek your ideas on the budget priorities and funding for public schools. MCPS serves more than 8,700 students in grades K-12; the district’s annual budget is expected to top $56 million in the 2007-2008 school year.

City Club Missoula forums are open to everyone; you do not need to be a
member to attend. Reservations are required. And can be made by e-mail to
[email protected] or by calling 406-546-6643 on or before Tuesday, May 15. Please indicate if you want if you want lunch ($10 member, $15 nonmembers) or the no-lunch option of forum only for $5. Please cancel if necessary by noon on Wednesday, May 17. Payment is required for late cancellations and unclaimed reservations. We encourage you to find a substitute to claim your reservation.
