UM President Seth Bodnar was kind enough to answer a few additional questions as the Q&A period was shorter than many had hoped.
- With regard to graduation rates:
- UM’s 4-year graduation rate improved from 29..6% in 2018 to 39.1% in 2024 (a 32.1% improvement). This graduation rate has consistently outperformed UM’s peer institutions during the same period of time.
- It’s worth reiterating that UM’s first-to-second year retention rate improved from 68.% in 2018 to 76% in fall of 2023. The 2023 retention rate is the highest ever recorded at UM
- With regard to AccelerateMT:
- The careers are across a diverse range of industries..tech, construction, healthcare, CDL, film, etc.
- To date, we’ve trained 1,665 people. The completion rate of the programs is 92%, with 85% of participants gaining employment in their related field post-training
Thanks,
Seth
