Capital DECA students place fifth in national competition

Capital High School students Clayton Goodhart, Gus O’Keefe, and Jared Pasma placed fifth in international competition at the recent 2005 DECA International Career Development Conference in Anaheim, Calif.

The students qualified to compete in Virtual Business against one thousand other competitors by placing as one of the top two teams within the northwestern region of the U.S.

The DECA club had 17 of its members travel to the conference this year.

Capital High School’s DECA advisor is Karey Conn.

DECA http://www.deca.org/ is an international association of marketing students with 185,000 members across the United States and in Canada, Germany and the U.S. territories. Its co-curricular programs of activity are integrated into local high school marketing education programs to help teach the skills and standards required in business.
