15 ideas to revitalize ‘lifeless’ downtowns (or make good ones even better) in the work-from-home era

Cities around the world face a common problem: Tourists are largely back after the pandemic, but office workers are not. Downtowns need a new identity. Imposing office towers are no longer an attestation of wealth and vibrancy. The Post Editorial Board has urged cities to do the obvious, albeit not so easy to execute — convert offices to apartments — but it will take much more than that to revive downtowns.
