Never Again? Buckle Up!

Here’s to hoping you weathered the storm last month OK and are crawling out from under the debris, and that you’ve been enjoying the summer. So grateful for the recent rain and, what? Blue skies!

August always brought for me mixed feelings growing up. It was hot, the days were long, we could stay out ‘til the streetlights came on. We never had air conditioning growing up, so Mom & Dad would pack us into the station wagon and haul us off to the mall to watch a movie in the cool darkness. To get to the theater, we had to walk past the BACK TO SCHOOL! Displays at JCPenney, and the dread of sitting in a hot classroom with dusty chalkboards overtook us for a brief moment before we sank into the comforting cold of the theater, our feet sticking to the floor where months of spilled pop and dropped Jujubes congealed.

The approach of fall also means another Tell Us Something storytelling event.

Podcast News

Thanks for your patience as I work to produce the podcasts from the June “Going Home” event. The sound quality of the recording I had available to me was complete garbage, full of hiss. I’ve been waiting for a clean recording from the sound engineer that night. He finally delivered it, and I was able to produce parts one and two of the “Going Home” live event that was in partnership with Missoula Pride. You can listen to both of those episodes wherever you get your podcasts or stream them on the Tell Us Something website.

Margi Cates

Margi Cates is a powerhouse singer. She knocked our socks off when she closed out her story at The Dennison with a song.

You’ve got a chance to listen to her with her band croon and swoon you with some soulful songs. Full of thoughtful lyrics, and delightful personality, their jams will bring a smile to your face. Caroline Keyes

Caroline shared a story at the first ever Tell Us Something event. She’s been making music with a variety of bands for years and you have a chance to see her in her newest band, Junior, August 23rd at Free Cycles with the Best Westerns. She figures out how to rhyme Bon Jovi with Ween in a great cut from the Junior record “Warm Buildings”. So great.
