No layoffs at Butte REC Silicon in wake of Moses Lake job losses

No layoffs are planned at Butte’s REC Silicon in the wake of 70 jobs lost at its affiliated plant in Moses Lake, Wash., according to a spokesperson.

Chris Bowes, the company’s Norway-based director of investor relations and global sourcing, said last week some "shared services" employees were being considered for the layoff. Some of those workers could have come from the Butte plant, Bowes said.

But he confirmed from Norway Tuesday night that no workers at the Butte plant lost their jobs.
