The second annual Emhart Design Contest is under way, featuring a top
prize of $20,000 or a 2004 Toyota Prius. Visit
http://www.emhartcontest.com for the exciting details.

Enter your best new product idea and match your skills against some of
the world’s most unconventional thinkers. In addition to a dream prize,
you could get global recognition and the support you need to take your
idea into production. There is no cost to enter.

Submit your original design idea in one of these three categories:

* Everyday Products – functional or ergonomic new products, or upgrades
to existing products, that improve quality of life;

* Safety – mechanical or electromechanical devices that improve
personal safety during travel, work, recreation, or at home;

* Transportation – mechanical or electromechanical designs that improve
the functionality, performance, or cost basis of transportation
products.

One Grand Prize winner will receive a hybrid automobile or $20,000 in
cash. One First Prize winner will get a Segway Transporter or a trip
for two to the U.S. Space Camp. Dozens of other prizes will be awarded,
and all accepted entrants in the U.S. will receive an Emhart POP
PowerLink 30 repair kit/hand rivet tool as a gift (a $50 value).

The contest is sponsored by Emhart Teknologies, a global leader in the
design and creation of unique assembly technologies. In addition to
NASA Tech Briefs, co-sponsors include Allfast Fastening Systems, the
leading manufacturer of solid/blind rivets and installation tooling for
aircraft, and SolidWorks Corporation, the standard in 3D,
helping manufacturers get to market faster.

Entries must be received by November 14, 2003. Visit
http://www.emhartcontest.com for the rules and official entry form.

Good luck!
