Growing Montana jobs from Golden Triangle’s bountiful harvests
The Golden Triangle’s wealth of high-quality crops and livestock can be leveraged to create a wealth of new industry and jobs, developers say.
The Great Falls Development Authority http://www.gfdevelopment.org/ is helping existing agricultural processing plants expand and recruiting other companies to take advantage of the seven-county Golden Triangle Area’s harvests.
GFDA is concentrating on agricultural processing, said Jolene Schalper, vice president specializing in manufacturing expansion and start-ups, including ag processing. Timeless Seeds, a pulse crop marketing company, and Montana Eggs, a cooperative of 30 Hutterite colonies, expanded their businesses. Friesen Nutrition, a Canadian livestock nutrition company, will locate in Great Falls and broaden its Montana operations.
